Crimson Moon

Lead UI/UX Artist Nequinox Studios

A multiplayer title for next gen console, pc and steamdeck thats currently in production

Responsibilities included:

• Collaborated with game designers and the UX Director to build comprehensive flowcharts and wireframes across all UX/UI features.

• Worked with the Art Director and UX Director to develop the first round of visual comps for every major screen in the game.

• Led a team of UI artists, establishing a streamlined production pipeline and providing ongoing artistic and UX-focused feedback.

Wireframes

These wireframes were developed in close collaboration with the game director to ensure that core design intentions and UX principles aligned from the start. Each iteration was reviewed with the appropriate stakeholders, creating a smooth approval process and a shared understanding of player flow, priorities, and functionality.

The current wireframes are set in its alpha phase, where ongoing user testing is informing refinements. We’re actively gathering insights, validating assumptions, and iterating to shape a final experience that feels intuitive, responsive, and deeply supportive of the game’s design goals.

Loadout Wireframes

The ‘Loadout’ screen is where the player selects their loadout including equipment and powers. They can also view their ally’s choices.

The Status and Inventory Screens

When pausing the game, the game status menu appears with access to other in game options such as inventory and quest log. A goal of the design was to ensure that because there is no real ‘pause’ state , being a multiplayer game, the player should still see the gameplay behind the menu

Gameplay HUD Wireframes

After iteration we landed in a place we felt confident in for alpha, and is currently being playtested for feedback.

Comps (WIP)

These in-progress comps highlight our core UI challenge: developing an aesthetic that supports, rather than competes with, the richly detailed environments of the game. Our direction leans toward elegant simplicity—a clean, restrained presentation that still echoes the mood and texture of a medieval, souls-like world. The result is a UI style that feels purposeful, atmospheric, and unobtrusively immersive.”
